We at Gate of Heaven
are dedicated to our youth. It's often said that the youth are the
future of the Church. We don't believe that statement to be quite
true. We believe that the youth are the Church now. That being
said,
we strive to engage Jr. high and Sr. high youth in various facets of the
church so that they feel they can make a difference now.
The Back Mountain Catholic Youth Council was
established in the fall
of 2000. It is comprised of the youth from Gate of Heaven, Our
Lady of Victory, St. Therese, and St. Frances X. Cabrini Parishes.
It is open to anyone in grades 6-8 (Jr. high) and 9-12 (Sr. high).
The Back Mt. High School
Youth Council is made up of 9th through 12th grade
students interested in planning, organizing, and
implementing service projects, social events, and
retreat experiences. The group meets twice a month from
October - June.

A speaker series for Young Adults, ages 18 to 40, single or
married to meet together in a relaxing atmosphere. Through
lively conversations and interesting speakers young adults
have a chance to reflect on their faith and connect with
other young adults.

God Squad (Back
Mountain Senior Youth Group)
International Student Leadership Institute
Conference is Feb. 24-26, 2012.
Great experience for 70-100 teens in our diocese on
a yearly basis: leadership skills, teamwork,
self-confidence, positive thinking and values...and
a whole lot of fun. It will take place at Fatima
Ctr., Dalton. If you are interested contact Fr.
Toomey at 675-2121, now...you will have to sign up
on line by Feb. 13. The first three students will
attend free.
We are
planning a SKI TRIP, 2012 and working out the
best deal we can get...it will be either Smuggler’s
Notch on the first weekend of March or Stowe on the
second Weekend of March. More details to follow.

Our
Next CATHOLIC ROCK MASS will be held on Sunday,
February 19 at GoH. Last Sunday was great...our
Catholic Rock Band is rocking. This was our second
teen Mass...and the assembly gathering to worship is
growing. High School students from all the churches
in the Back Mountain make up the band. High School
students from throughout the Back Mountain are
welcome to come to the Mass. Many people, young and
old, enjoyed their contemporary music ministry at
the last Catholic Rock Mass in November. This Mass
counts for your Sunday obligation. Please plan on
coming out for this wonderful evening of faith and
music! All ages are welcome.

MT. JR. HIGH YOUTH GROUP
The Back Mountain Jr. High Youth Group will meet for
lunch and bowling at the Back Mountain Bowl on
Sunday, February 19, from 12:30-2:00 PM. For further
