The Ministry of Music at Gate of Heaven

Gate of Heaven's music ministry has been made up of faithful, dedicated people for many years. We have 3 very different and unique choirs:

The Parish Choir
And adult choir which includes young adults. It is an SATB choir - Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass. Rehearsals are Wednesday nights from 7:00PM to 8:30PM. The Parrish Choir sings at the 11:30 AM Liturgies and all special Masses.

The Parish Choir usually has a summer picnic and a Christmas Party. They also welcome any opportunity to get together! In 1994, they traveled to Ireland and sang at various liturgies in Churches throughout their trip. A wonderful time was had by everyone! New members are always welcome!

The Youth Choir

A young people's choir made up of third grade through high school. Rehearsals are held Thursday evenings from 7 P.M. to 8 P.M. The youth choir sings at the 9:00 AM Liturgy.

The Bell Choir

A very special ministry that richly enhances the Liturgy. Gate of Heaven has acquired and memorialized Malmark Hand Bells. There are three octaves of bells that require 11 players. Ideally all members need to be present at all rehearsals and Liturgies (one or two missing players does create missing and very necessary notes). We play for Christmas, Easter, Confirmation, and Pentecost Masses. Reading Music is a plus but if you cannot read music, we will be happy to teach you! We are in need of bell ringers.

Song Leaders and Psalmists

There's an opportunity for musicians to lead song and/ or to proclaim the Psalm. These persons would stand at the podium or the Ambo and lead the Assembly.

Gate of Heaven parish is a faith community of catholic believers who are baptized into union with the one holy catholic and apostolic church. We worship God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, led by the Holy Spirit and who propagate the faith and serve others, faithful to the teaching of the church. As a parish, we invite all to come and be welcome among us.
