Religious Education

The process of formation is the responsibility of everyone in our parish: priests, staff, ministers, parishioners as sponsors, godparents, volunteer catechists, and especially parents sharing our faith by doctrines of our Catholic faith, prayer experiences, by telling our witness stories about God's love in our daily life. Using questioning and answering techniques, media, group sharing and other activities, that's really what happens in religious education! It doesn't happen overnight, or in one year, but rather in a gradual process over years of a child's maturing toward an adult catholic understanding.

Pre-school through eight grade students attend sessions on Sunday mornings at Gate of Heaven at 10:00 A.M. and at Our Lady of Victory at 9:15 A.M.  High School students can teach and aid in the program.

If you have children these ages and would like to enroll them, please see the registration form. Please call Maureen Devine at 639-1535 OR Dede Scafella at 674-1652. They will be happy to discuss the program with you and answer any questions you may have. Also, if you would be interested in teaching or being a teacher's aide in the program, please do not hesitate to contact them. We will gladly "show you the ropes" and keep you current on your theology for those who have never taught.

Volunteer Opportunities
Catechist (teacher)

Gate of Heaven parish is a faith community of catholic believers who are baptized into union with the one holy catholic and apostolic church. We worship God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, led by the Holy Spirit and who propagate the faith and serve others, faithful to the teaching of the church. As a parish, we invite all to come and be welcome among us.
